Saturday February 15th, 2020 9:19pm, despite summer like weather conditions in the San Francisco Bay area, another major power quality voltage sag affected customers throughout the region. Grid voltage sagged to 68% of normal for 3.48 cycles, about 1/20th of a second.
Customers reported impact from this power quality voltage sag on their sensitive loads and equipment. This incident originated within the City of Santa Clara (SVP) territory, and was caused by mylar balloons in their 60 kV transmission lines.
