Scott brings over 20 years of experience in the electrical industry. His background as an electrical contractor, lighting manufacture representative, and electrical wholesale distributor allowed him to focus on collaborative sales. Moreover, APT’s newest member brings a culture of empowerment and accountability making the APT team better today than yesterday.
Empowerment
Empowerment is a set of measures designed to increase the degree of autonomy and self-determination in people and communities. Further, it enables them to represent their interests in a responsible and self-determined way, acting on their own authority. It is the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights.
Empowerment as action refers both to the process of self-empowerment and to the professional support of people. Likewise, it enables them to overcome their sense of powerlessness and lack of influence and to recognize and use their resources to do work with power.
Accountabilitity
Accountability is defined as answerability, blameworthiness, liability, and the expectation of account-giving in ethics and governance.
In governance, it’s central to discussions related to problems in the public sector, nonprofit, private (corporate), and individual contexts.
Meanwhile, in leadership roles, accountability is the acknowledgment and assumption of responsibility for actions, products, decisions, and policies. This includes the administration, governance, and implementation within the scope of the role or employment position. Further, it encompasses the obligation to report, explain and be answerable for resulting consequences.
