Saturday March 7th, 2020 8:48am, with a spring rainstorm blowing in to the the San Francisco Bay area Saturday morning, we experienced another transmission level voltage sag affecting customers throughout the region. Transmission line voltage sagged to less than 81% of normal for 4.5 cycles, or about 1/10th of a second for the City of Santa Clara’s grid.
Customers reported impact from this widespread voltage sag on their power quality sensitive loads and equipment. No root cause has yet been identified.
